Well the first tree tube removal event went remarkably well on the 16th October. Almost 40 willing volunteers turned up at the Mayflower Wood Community Woodland many of whom were from Immingham Air Cadets.
The keen volunteers braved the bracing elements and traversed the chosen wing of the woodland like a swarm of locusts, quickly returning bulk bags full of the said tree tubes, where another team hastilly wrapped the tubes together in 10's so as to reduce the overall volume.

Almost 10,000 tubes were removed over a period of 2 to 3 hours by the team of volunteers which will be forward delivered to Rainbow Professional in Hull for reprocessing, diverting what would otherwise be landfill.
Rainbow recently took delivery of and commissioned more equipment which will enable the efficient reprocessing of the waste plastic, and will also enable Rainbow to accept more contaminated streams of waste plastic for recycling.
